Using Movement to Get Out of Your Head

If you are an over-thinker, then this is definitely for you.

I'm in my head a lot. I've been told I think too much and well....I guess I have to admit that yes, I do think too much. I also love to exercise and get cranky if I don't move my body. When I "think" about it (oops, there I go), I wonder if exercising is a built-in mechanism for me to help me with my over-thinking head...OR are they separate matters. Regardless, I love to exercise, and I do it not just to keep fit, but because it does help me feel better. When given the choice, I also choose to be outdoors since there is a sense of freedom due to the expansion of space and the extra stimuli of nature all around me.

Movement is always a winner for me to get out of my head. No matter what form of exercise or activity I choose, movement definitely helps me to:

1. Release overwhelming thoughts that bring me down;
2. Get off my pity pot;
3. Forget my concerns;
4. Be present so that I am living in the moment;
5. Appreciate the world around me keeping life real and simple;
6. Gain clarity and peace of mind;
7. Feel FREE!

Keep Young and Fit with Hula Hooping on Rollerskates

I've been dance skating in Central Park since 1996 with the Central Park Dance Skaters Association and hula hooping since I was a little kid, but nothing too tricky until getting certified with Hoopnotica a year ago to actually teach hooping to adults for a fun, expressive fitness activity, however, this was the first time I combined the two and took a hoop to skates!

I certainly wasn't prepared to make this look pretty or to have a really cool outfit on, so it's rough, but I'm sharing this to inspire others to get out there and have fun! It doesn't matter how old you are (I'm 47). Having a child-like spirit will keep you young, fit, and in good health in body, mind and spirit.

So go ahead, grab a hoop, dig out your old rollerskates and GET MOVING! Have fun in life and enjoy expressing yourself by doing what you love.

Need some help or motivation to get MOVING? I help you open up to new ways to move your body by focusing on joy and fun. When you do that, you will automatically improve your body, mind and spirit. Coaching and "fun" personal training programs are available. Simply request a FREE 30min Discovery Session to get the conversation rolling (get it? - ha!).  Schedule yours today!

Are you doing what you love?
