Soulistic Adventures Launches at Athleta - April 21, 2012

I DID IT!  It was simply time...time to put up the sails and venture out on a new path.  To put a stake in the ground to claim to the Universe that I am very serious, passionate and ready to live what I view as my life's purpose.  No more hiding. It is now in "action mode"!
The Nia Technique - teaching new Nia movers!!! yeah!!!

My giveaway.
On April 21, 2012 (Sat) at the Athleta store in Scarsdale, NY,  I opened up my doors stating to the public that Soulistic Adventures was now alive and ready for business by teaching a free Nia Technique class to a group of 12 beautiful movers.   I met a lot of wonderful individuals and with great joy, I was pleased that my class put smiles on their faces.

My launch gifts.

This is only the beginning, and I am taking one step at a time, getting the kinks out, learning a lot along the way and building a solid foundation.

I encourage anyone else out there who has a dream, to just get started.  No more procrastinating or hiding.

Write me and let me know what's cookin in your world!!

A Time for Everything?

Every single one of us is exposed to a magnitude of emotions and feelings as we move through our lives.  So many ups and downs, productive times, lazy times; twists and turn; happy times, sad times; stressful times, joyful times; serious times, silly times; work hard, play hard; cry, laugh; devastation, exhilaration; prosperity, scarcity; nervousness, confidence; birth and eventually death.....you name it.  It's a lot for the human body, mind and spirit.

So how does one move along and remain at peace or in a state of harmony?

Personally, I can think of a couple things to share:

  1. If I'm stressed, scared, pressured or anticipating an unpleasant task at hand, I recall the many times I felt that same emotion in the past AND GUESS WHAT?..I survived!   I use that reminder as a source of strength to know that I can handle what's ahead, and I will be just fine.
  2.  I recall a favorite passage of mine from the Bible: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8... A Time for Everything. This passage makes perfect sense and helps me BE in the current state of reality knowing that it simply "is what it is for the moment"  and it will eventually pass and be replaced by another emotion.   This is life, so don't be afraid, worried or threatened.  Find strength and comfort knowing and allowing yourself to feel and experience it all.
  3. I think of the statement "the only thing that is constant is change"  and so I consciously realize that whatever it is I'm going through, I need to acknowledge it as it is real for the moment, knowing that it too will change
  4. I constantly recall the statements :  "Go with the flow", Let it Go" and
This too shall pass"  - simple, to the point and allows room to experience all feelings/emotions.
So....is there a time for everything?
What do you think?

Fire & Ice

When Passion Meets Ice

It's scary when you begin to step out and take risks to follow your passion.  No doubt, you will have better days than others.  You will have days when something triggers you into self-doubt. Could be yourself when you get overwhelmed and start slipping down that slipperly slope of "who am I kidding",  "it's not the right time" or "I don't know enough" or maybe you allow someone else's comments or lack thereof to put your fire out and begin to question yourself, allowing their reality to be your reality.   It's not always easy.

Bbbrrrrrrr!!

I believe the biggest crime you can do is not live a life of self-integrityWhat do I mean?  It's being accountable for your self and aligning your behaviour to support the decisions and promises you have made to support the well-being of your life - the people, things, goals that are most important to you.  Is it easy?   NO.  It's a consistent effort, but so worth it.   It's better than being a victim and freezing up your passion.

So, when it comes to living your life with passion:

  • Allow your personal journey of self-awarness to kick in and get in "tune" with your needs.
  • Realize that you took part in creating your own reality and that YOU can take back responsibility to create a new reality.
  • Understand that you have the power to write your own life's story, so quit blaming or having excuses - keep moving forward.
  • Write down what is most important in your life - include you first because if you don't have your own oxygen mask on, you won't be truly effective for anyone else.
  • Be kind to yourself and keep open to possibilities.
  • Do the work - you can't be lazy or just dream it - you have to take action.

IT'S GETTING HOT IN HERE!

So, whatever makes you tick, sing a song or makes your heart dance - then by all means, honor yourself and AND LIVE YOUR LIFE WITH PASSION.

Ice Ice Baby?   NO WAY BABY!.....NOT ME!

ARE YOU ON FIRE TODAY? (in a good way - LOL)?
